Comfortable and having a nice sea view if get a seaview room

First time staying in this new building and was blown away by how spacious and comfy the room was! I’ve been to a few IHG hotels and this was definitely one of the best I’ve stayed.
Although it’s slightly off the main places, it’s only a short distance away from Raja Uda so you can still get great food while keeping some privacy and good rest, away from the bustle. Amazing view of the Penang port too!
It’s also a short distance to the island, so you’re still getting the best of both worlds, but at affordable price for the spacious interior.
Great job from the staff and front desk! Will return soon (if the price is affordable!)

A really good stay at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and welcoming throughout my time there. I didn’t expect this newly built hotel in Butterworth, which opened in February 2025, to have such a nice swimming pool with a sea view. Truly impressed and overall a very comfortable experience.

I recently stayed at the Penang during a business trip and had an excellent experience. The rooms were modern, clean, and comfortable—perfect for unwinding after a long workday. The hotel’s business facilities were well-equipped, and the Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. Staff were professional, attentive, and always ready to assist. The location was convenient for meetings around Prai, and the breakfast spread offered a good mix of local and international options. Overall, a smooth and pleasant stay that made my work trip much easier.

I recently stayed at this hotel and, unfortunately, my experience was not as smooth as expected.
1. Room Type Issue
I had specifically requested a king bed when making my booking. However, upon check-in, I was given a twin-bed room. The explanation provided was that no king rooms were available. What made this disappointing was that I checked the hotel’s website shortly afterward and found that king-bed rooms were still being advertised as available for booking. This raises the question of why my original request was not honored. The staff also mentioned that the instructions from the booking platform indicated a twin-bed preference, which was not the case.
2. Lack of Room Cleaning
During my stay, my room was not cleaned at all. Basic housekeeping is expected, especially for multi-night stays, and it was frustrating that this service was not provided.

新五星酒店，位置偏远，我们从乔治城坐grab到酒店用了66令吉(连路费，可能是繁忙时间，较贵)。
酒店的服务及设施未达五星水平。服务只可以说是一般，从前台到餐厅服务员，只做到有问有答，没有很强要服务的意识，而且对服务项目也不是很清楚。我问前台及餐厅接待第二天酒店自助早餐多少钱(我没有订)，他们答我6O令吉，我问住客户有没有优惠，他们说没有。但第二天我吃时是有的，八折，48令吉。早餐这个价钱是算不错。
房间的景观十分好，我住16楼，望山景。但房间的设施令人失望，洗手间的厕所的玻璃门是不能关上(如图片)，洗澡间的去水不行，水喉某些位置是松脱的。房间内装冰箱柜内的门是松的，不能关好。
整体而言，当作是一间4星酒店便可。

非常优秀的入住体验，房间大宽敞乾净整洁，酒店的设施非常棒，楼顶的泳池非常乾净，而且景色秀丽。如果不是因为时间不够，非常想在这里多住几天。不足的就只是交通的部分，想要往来槟城需要依赖轮渡。

Booked 2 rooms, connecting room. We checked in at around 8pm, the girl in reception who handle my check in was Sally, she is very nice and friendly. Will definitely go back again
